Deliver the Dream, a South Florida nonprofit that organizes retreats for families experiencing a serious illness or crisis, has planned a new event to engage benefactors.

"Red Hot and In Style," an April 26 fashion event and "bid-on-a date" bachelor auction – hosted by Miss Florida USA 2012 Karina Brez – will unveil some of Fort Lauderdale's most eligible bachelors at the Fort Lauderdale Executive Airport.

Two soccer players from the Fort Lauderdale Strikers team are among the group of men putting themselves on the auction block to raise funds for Deliver the Dream families.

More than 150 guests are expected to gather at the event, which will feature private jets as the backdrop for its chic fashion show sponsored by T.J. Maxx, bachelors debut and auction package items.

Guests will enjoy hors d'oeuvres with a selection of The Naked Grape wines and be able to bid on silent auction items such as a stay at the Marriott Harbor Beach Resort & Spa, two Bluegreen Vacation stays, a day of salon beauty in Boca Raton and two tickets to a Cruzan Amphitheatre concert or show.

Tickets are $125 for VIP Admission (limited availability) and include access to the VIP champagne and truffles section, an exclusive reception with the bachelors and reserved runway seating. General admission tickets are $100.

All proceeds will go directly to Deliver the Dream's Family Retreat Program, which helps families who have a child or a parent living with an illness or going through a crisis.

Deliver the Dream retreats happen every month and invite up to 15 families, free of charge, to get away from the stress of their everyday lives and connect with other families living with similar circumstances.

Each monthly retreat focuses on a different illness or disorder, such as cancer, autism, cerebral palsy, multiple sclerosis, sickle cell or HIV.
