“Meet the Coach” Event Brings St. Louis Cardinals Coach

Tony La Russa to the Fans

 

Jupiter, Fla.Deliver the Dream (DTD), a South Florida-based charity that helps families experiencing a serious illness or crisis is hitting a home run by hosting “Meet the Coach”, a fundraiser  featuring  St. Louis Cardinals head coach Tony La Russa to benefit its Family Retreat Program.

 

La Russa will meet fans at Roger Dean Stadium in Jupiter after the team takes on the New York Mets on Saturday, March 20 at 1:05 pm. Deliver the Dream is offering a “Meet the Coach” package for $50 that includes a game ticket and admission into the fundraiser event. If fans already have a game ticket, $35 will gain them entry into the post-game event. Children under 12 years will be admitted for free.

 

An event pass includes the opportunity to hear La Russa speak, snacks and 2 drink tickets (for fans 21+). About Deliver the Dream

Deliver the Dream, Inc. is a non-profit retreat program that serves families facing serious illness or crisis by helping them to enhance coping skills, reduce stress, and cultivate relationships. Deliver the Dream offers retreat weekends, which combine traditional recreational activities like hiking and fishing, with therapeutic workshops, peer-to-peer discussion groups and expressive arts and music activities. The retreats are provided at no cost to participants. Since 2002, the organization has hosted retreats for more than 4,200 family members facing such challenges as Cancer, Multiple Sclerosis, HIV, Down Syndrome, Cerebral Palsy and Autism. 

 

Retreat participants are referred to Deliver the Dream by a network of 16 not-for-profit healthcare organizations, including the National Multiple Sclerosis Society, Joe DiMaggio Children’s Hospital, Chris Evert Children’s Hospital, the American Cancer Society, and The University of Florida Pediatric Hematology Oncology Clinic. 

More than 300 volunteers help make the retreats possible.
